Information You Enter
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into a search form are sent to the third-party service that powers that result. Our own servers do not keep a copy of those search entries. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to answer it.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting may record normal server details such as an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. Those details are reviewed in aggregate for site health and broad page-use measures. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also use cookies or similar tools when enabled.
How the Data Is Used
Technical data supports site operation, error repair, traffic counts, and page improvements. Visitor lists are not sold, and the reference does not build a profile of an individual reader.
Outside Portals and Links
Pages link to county and state portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools. Each outside operator controls its own privacy terms and submission practices. A third-party company supplies sponsored results, so its policy governs anything entered into that tool.
Who Can Process It
Hosting and support providers may process the technical logs described above. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the related automatic data. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise is limited to operating the reference.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted, and logs are kept only for as long as the purposes above call for them. There are no accounts here, so the site does not hold a visitor password or personal profile.
People Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from someone under 18. If a minor has sent information, use the Contact page so it can be reviewed and deleted.
Your California Privacy Rights
Where applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following, provide rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of covered personal information, subject to exemptions. Because this reference keeps little data, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by California, Los Angeles County, or Claremont offices are outside our control; direct removal or correction requests to the custodian. The California Privacy Protection Agency maintains current guidance, including data-broker and deletion information.
Policy Changes
When this policy changes, the revised text will be posted here. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
